When the pandemic first hit in NYC, it hit hard, and I was stuck in my apartment for months. I literally didn't leave for any reason for 8 weeks at least. So this was my view. Every day I would do my workout and face the window and see these watertowers, and every day the light and color was different. So I started to create digital paintings of the same scene over and over in different light. I was inspired by Monet, who did a similar thing with his paintings of the Cathedral at Rouen and his haystacks. I think of these as my pandemic paintings and I'm still taking photos of that scene from my window. I suspect I'll return to this subject to create more.
